Yay! New Camera
Finally got around to do what Mark and I decided to do if I had a good Woolfest - to invest some of the takings in a new digital camera. The old one had been a freebie (cheap golf prize) that I'd kidnapped from Ma about four or five years ago: the batteries don't really charge up any more, the card has a tiny memory, and there really isn't much picture definition compared to what can be done now. So I did a bit of internet research, found out what some bloggers who took excellent photos were using, compared prices, and dragged Mark up to Curry's in Guiseley yesterday afternoon for a Fujifilm S5700. Primarily I wanted this for the large size (easier to use especially for Mark's huge hands) and the x10 zoom which'll be brilliant for wildlife. On playing with it last night (and reading the manual in detail, at least until my brain burst) I also found it had a really good shaky-hands setting and also one for natural light. So I took lots of photos....

Bil rarely takes a good photo, but this new camera appears to like him.

Usually when the pupz stare at me there's a bad case of red and greeneye, but not with the natural light setting.

Lunil was very suspicious when I got down to her level. Strange noises.... However, there is also a 'museum setting' which is no flash and silent. They say it's to be polite in a museum setting, but it's also to be surreptitious....

The zoom is incredible - I was across the room from Tid when I took this. Her whiskers always photograph to advantage, and look at her lovely translucent ears!

Mark's splendid new hat, a felt one he bought at the GYS on Thursday. Again, no flash!

I look rather concerned as Mark has a go with the new camera - flash here, which is why I look quite so pink. At least I'm not pulling the faces I seemed to be on Saturday (Mark assures me he was looking at what my hands were doing when he took those).
So yes, new camera. Now I have to get used to it. But I found a cheap and authentic bag on eBay!
