Continuing...
... from last time, when Mark was standing over me telling me it was time to go home.
We're at Ma's for the evening, having eaten (and showered) here and just watched 'Mamma Mia' on dvd. Dad fell asleep and Mark sniggered through everything but the songs, which he did sing along to. I shall remind him of this later.
We still have no hot water, although someone is supposed to be coming to replace the element on Monday afternoon. Apparently this is not as easy as it sounds and could still end up with a new boiler needed. I'm sure the two visits so far, plus Monday's, will end up costing the same as a new boiler anyway. I'm waiting for our landlords to offer us a rebate on next month's rent!
And the cold weather continues. What I would do without my 'leccy blanket I don't know. We braved M&S at Owlcotes this morning (after dropping off the second carload of books from Dora's house that we collected on Friday) and I invested in a fleecy pair of trackie pants. I'm wearing a ridiculous amount of clothing in the house, and it'll be quite a shock to be back at work on Monday and dress for a heated (and usually overheated) house. I dread to think how much work has piled up for me since the 23rd - at least Christmas is usually quiet for the Church of England!....
Mark, being mad, is going out into Bradford this evening on the 10.45 bus. I shall turn the fire on full and snuggle up with the pups, a dvd, my knitting and a large glass of something Scottish and alcoholic.
Happy New Year to all and sundry. And I'd appreciate some positive thoughts for me in the direction of hot water.
